Motorcycle accidents can be a horrible experience for Colorado victims. A motorcycle accident can cause a substantial amount of injuries and lead to death, especially since riders have little to no protection if involved in a collision. According to Colorado authorities, two men lost their lives in a motorcycle accident. The accident reportedly happened on a recent Sunday afternoon. Authorities determined that the crash ensued as a 28-year-old motorcycle rider was traveling in the westbound direction when, for an unknown reason, he veered across the center lines. The man then crashed head-on into a 55-year-old motorcycle rider. The impact caused both of the drivers to be thrown from their bikes. Rescue crews arrived at the scene, but one of the motorcycle riders was already deceased. The other motorcyclist was transported to the hospital, but he also died from his injuries. Authorities believe that excessive speed may have contributed to the accident. However, authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved.A motorcycle accident can be more dangerous than a tradition car crash. Understandably, both of the deceased men’s family members are grieving their loss. The family of the older deceased motorcyclist may have the right to file a wrongful death claim against the younger deceased motorcyclist’s estate to recoup damages suffered. The civil court system in Colorado may award damages based upon evidence that the other party’s negligence was a causal factor in the crash that resulted in death. Doing so may bring about much-needed financial relief for the family as they grieve.Source: CBS Denver, “2 Killed In Head-On Motorcycle Crash Near Horsethooth Reservoir”, , March 31, 2014
