Colorado teen dies in deadly single car crash

| Jun 11, 2014 | Uncategorized |

Recently, a middle-of-the-night drive turned into tragedy for a group of teenagers. A fatal car crash claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy and seriously injured other teens who were riding in the vehicle. Colorado authorities indicate that a 16-year-old driver may have lost control of the vehicle.Reports indicate that a teen driver may have been operating at an excessive rate of speed when he failed to successfully navigate around a corner. The vehicle reportedly spun before slamming into a parked van. When medical crews arrived at the scene, the teens were pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated. One of the teens was flown to a children’s medical facility for treatment while two others were transported to different hospitals.Tragically, one of the teens perished at the scene. Authorities believe that the driver may have been going up to 80 mph at the time of the accident. It is not yet known if the teen driver will face criminal charges in the incident.Sadly, the negligent acts of a driver can lead to injuries and death for others who are passengers in a vehicle. Although there were no other vehicles involved, this car crash is still devastating to the deceased’s family and the teens who suffered injuries. The family of the deceased teen may wish to file a wrongful death claim against the teen and any separate owner of the vehicle. The injured teens and their parents may also have similar rights under the law in a Colorado civil courtroom.Source:, “Teen killed in crash in Fort Lupton early Tuesday morning; 3 other teens hurt”, Anica Padilla, June 3, 2014
