Colorado car accident kills 1, injures 2 others

Fog may have been a contributing factor in a recent crash that happened in the Denver area. The car accident killed one person and caused injuries to two others. Colorado authorities stated that the two-vehicle accident was caused when one of the drivers veered into an oncoming lane of traffic. The accident took place on a recent Wednesday morning, close to the airport. An initial investigation revealed that the driver of a Lexus and the driver of a Dodge truck were traveling in opposite directions at the time. The driver of the Lexus, for unknown reasons, crossed over and crashed into the pickup truck in a head-on collision. Reportedly, the driver of the pickup only suffered minor injuries and took himself to a medical facility. An occupant suffered injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Sadly, the driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the crash site. Authorities are investigating the crash to determine if fog and visibility issues were contributing factors in the crash.Fortunately, the driver of the pickup was not seriously injured in the car accident. However, an occupant suffered injuries that may cause pain and suffering and lost wages. Even though the driver of the Lexus has passed away, the passenger may still have a legal remedy to obtain justice. The passenger may file a personal injury claim against the estate of the deceased driver in an effort to recoup financial damages sustained. If evidence of negligence is provided to the satisfaction of a Colorado civil courtroom, monetary damages may be awarded.Source:, "One killed, one hospitalized after head-on crash in Commerce City", Chuck Hickey, June 4, 2014
