Colorado school bus car crash results in injuries

Most Colorado residents are aware that the negligent acts of one person can cause serious injuries to others. A recent car crash occurred, involving a sedan and a Colorado school bus. Five people were injured in the accident. According to reports, the school bus was on its way to a middle school and an elementary school on a recent Friday morning. Upon a preliminary investigation, authorities determined that the accident took place when the driver of a Toyota sedan crashed into the back of the school bus after the vehicle stopped to pick up a child. Medics arrived at the scene and airlifted the driver of the Toyota to the hospital. The bus driver was also transported to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to be okay.In addition, three students on the bus were treated for injuries. The investigation revealed that there were no skid marks from the Toyota that indicated any sign that the driver had attempted to stop. Authorities are unsure if the driver of the Toyota will be issued any charges.

A car crash is difficult for victims who are involved and their families who depend on them for support. Car accidents can result in serious injuries that may require hospitalization and follow-up care. Even though the driver of the Toyota has yet to be charged, she may still face civil liabilities. The injured victims may elect to file personal injury lawsuits against the driver of the Toyota to recover damages for lost wages, mental anguish and pain and suffering. The civil court system in Colorado may award compensatory damages if evidence deems the driver of the Toyota was negligent in a way that caused or contributed to the injuries.
