Colorado school bus driver dies in car accident

| Mar 20, 2014 | Uncategorized |

An accident can occur on any day and at any time, but in many situations, it could have been prevented. Often, simply paying more attention to surroundings can prevent an auto accident on our Colorado roadways. A multiple vehicle accident occurred on the highway, killing a school bus driver.Authorities responded to the scene of an accident that occurred on the highway. Upon a preliminary investigation, witnesses reportedly told officers that the school bus driver was in the midst of connecting chains to the vehicle’s wheels. Suddenly, the driver of a truck slammed into the school bus driver and then skid off the mountain. When authorities and rescue crews arrived at the scene, the school bus driver was discovered deceased in the road.Reportedly, there were no other passengers on the bus. Authorities believe the crash may have been weather related and have not issued any citations. The accident is still being investigated, and the details regarding other drivers have not been reported.

A car accident is a frightening experience for any victim to encounter, and it’s even more frightening when someone has died as a result. The family of the deceased school bus driver is undoubtedly grieving their loss and making funeral arrangements. Other victims involved in the crash are likely experiencing pain and suffering. The family of the deceased may have legal options to pursue a wrongful death claim against the driver of the truck. The civil court system in Colorado may award compensatory damages if evidence deems the other party negligent in a way that caused or contributed to death.
