Driving under the influence and speeding are considered to be factors in a fatal accident that took place on one Colorado highway. The car crash that stemmed from a head-on collision has left two dead and two injured. Colorado authorities are still working to determine the cause of the tragedy.Authorities assert that the accident took place when the 42-year-old male driver of a Ford truck crossed the center lines. The driver of a Chevy truck saw the Ford coming toward him and attempted to avoid collision by swerving to get out of his way. Both vehicles collided and the impact sent the Chevy off the road and became airborne for a brief moment before landing near a hill. A motorcyclist, that was traveling behind the Chevy, saw a man get thrown out in front of him after the impact.Both of the occupants in the Chevy died from their injuries. The occupants in the Ford suffered injuries and were taken to the hospital. The road was closed down for a couple of hours and authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the accident.
This is a tragic car accident that has left families without their loved ones and a victim suffering from injury. Depending on the outcome of this continuing investigation, the surviving family members of the deceased victims may be able to file a wrongful death claim against the driver of the Ford who supposedly cut across the center line. Colorado authorities have not yet deemed who was responsible for the crash, however, the court may award financial relief to recoup damages suffered as a result of the accident if evidence proves the other party responsible.
