A driver lost control and collided with another vehicle while traveling on a Colorado roadway. The car crash claimed the lives of two victims, including a young passenger. Police shut down a road for over 5 hours following the accident.Authorities responded to the scene of an accident that occurred on Sunday afternoon between an SUV and a Toyota. Upon a preliminary investigation, the crash reportedly occurred when the operator of the SUV was unable to maintain control over their vehicle. As the Toyota was making a turn, the vehicle ended up being T-boned by the SUV. The driver of the SUV did not sustain any injuries.The driver of the Toyota and a young passenger passed away at the scene as a result. Authorities issued multiple traffic citations to the driver of the SUV in regards to the crash, but the nature of the violations have not been reported. The factor that caused the SUV driver to lose control is not known. The incident is still being investigated by authorities for more details.
Depending on the outcome of this continuing investigation, the driver may have to enter the courtroom in Colorado for civil litigation initiated by family members. The surviving family may seek to recoup damages for expenses and emotional suffering by filing wrongful death lawsuits in relation to the fatal car crash. In regards to this case, monetary compensation may be awarded to the family if it is proved that the driver’s negligence caused or contributed to the deaths.
