Colorado car crash leaves 24-year-old woman injured, hospitalized

On Behalf of | Jul 8, 2013 | Uncategorized |

With the warm days of summer upon us, more and more drivers take to the Colorado streets and highways. While this typically means that Colorado residents and out-of-state vacationers are taking advantage of the summer weather to enjoy outside activities, it also means that there is an increased risk of collisions between vehicles taking place. One recent car crash between two vehicles led to injuries that required hospitalization.

That 24-year-old woman suffered her injuries on a Friday afternoon in late June. The accident occurred on Colorado Highway 66 near Longmont and involved the woman’s 1992 Chevrolet two-door along with a 1997 Subaru Outback. The driver of the Outback did not suffer any injuries in the collision, but the Chevrolet’s driver required transportation to the Boulder Community Hospital.

A Colorado State Patrol spokesperson revealed that she had her injuries treated at that hospital, but did not report on her exact condition. Additionally, he could not provide any details as to exactly what might have contributed to or caused the two vehicles to collide. For now, it appears that the investigation into this car accident remains ongoing.

One thing that does seem clear about this car crash is the fact that the 24-year-old victim will be facing medical expenses stemming from her injuries. If it can be demonstrated that the other driver was negligent in some fashion, she may be able to recoup part or all of her expenses by filing a personal injury lawsuit. This is one way in which civil laws operate to protect accident victims. By presenting evidence that another party acted negligently, victims may be able to recover financial damages in order to cover their medical and other related expenses.
